Comparative suffering is rude. (If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, here’s the story.) It’s also perfectly human. If you’ve been around for a bit, you know that my morning routine is sacred to me. Running is not just good for my body. It’s essential for my mind and soul, too.(What part of your routine is essential for you to make sure your mind is right?  Reply and let me know. 🙂)With my ankle out of commission, I’ve been wrestling with icky feelings that don’t normally creep in, although they used to…a lot. And over the last 20 years, I’ve done a LOT of work to better manage them. Even for someone who has been doing “the work” for many years, those feelings still show up when life throws curveballs. (And sometimes even when it doesn’t.)

⭐️ You could be the best teacher the school has ever seen, and you’ll still have bad days. ⭐️ You could be the most patient person on the face of the planet, and you’ll still have frustrating days. ⭐️ You could be an exceptional student of the Law of Attraction, and you’ll still have days where complaints creep in. You’re human, and the feelings don’t make you “bad” or “wrong.”Next time the feelings you know you *shouldn’t* have come up, do me a favor and accept them without trying to push them away. What I have found is that when I let my emotions be exactly what they are, they tend to do what they need to do and move along quickly. It’s when I try to “should” them away that they turn into a bigger deal than they are. I’m glad I went into surrender and acceptance and allowed myself to “be” in the situation of not being able to run, even though it truly sucked!  And I’m even more thankful that on Day 11, I was able to return to running the streets with my doggies.

May we all try to give ourselves a bit more grace and allow ourselves to feel the way we do, but at some point, we also must learn to pivot. ❤️
