Welcome to the Kim Strobel Joy Newsletter!
What’s new in my life?
I took my side-kick (aka Scott Strobel) with me to Orlando where I spoke to the Florida Association of Superintendents. It was quite the treat and I was empowered by how these school leaders are showing up for their schools and teachers.
Here’s a sneak peek of the process I go through before I hit the stage.
And we got to enjoy an extra day by the pool, which we both greatly needed.
Products I’m loving…(and their affiliate links)
I asked the Strobel Education team to share their favorite products this month.
Bella B Leg and Foot Cream
My project manager and chaos coordinator, Jessa, loves this lotion. Even though she says it says pregnancy lotion, she’s used it for years, and it’s her very favorite. It’s especially good for shaving your legs.
Large Leather Journal
Strobel Education consultant Dr. Emma Gibbs loves this journal. It has ruled pages that are a bit thicker, inner pockets, and two bookmarks. I’m ordering this today because I’ve needed a new gratitude journal.
For the Men!
Good grief. It took me long enough to realize that most of the products I love are women’s products, and I know we have some men on our email list, so I’ve included a couple for you!
Worz Power Share GT String Trimmer & Wheeled Edger
My friend, Molly, said her husband loves this tool. And it’s a great price. Check it out. (I’m so thankful I don’t have to use any of the tools at the Strobel House).
Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani for Men Cologne
I’ve heard so many ladies tell me they love this smell, so I bought this for my husband (and my son), and they both really like it.
Books I have recently read…
Green Lights
by Matthew McConaughey
I highly recommend listening to the audiobook simply because Matthew McConaughey’s voice and how he tells his story are captivating.
The Invention of Wings
by Sue Monk Kidd
This exquisitely written novel is a triumph of storytelling that looks with unswerving eyes at a devastating wound in American history, through women whose struggles for liberation, empowerment, and expression will leave no reader unmoved.
Quote, I’m Digging!
Happy conditions arrive because you create happiness, not the other way around.
It’s easy to look for happiness outside of ourselves. And we play the “if/when” game with happiness. “I’ll be happy when I get a different job.” “I’ll be happy when I lose this weight.” “I’ll be happy when we can get a bigger house, find the right partner, make more money, etc.”
The old success formula that we’ve grown up believing is that when we achieve what we want and acquire our desires, we will be happy. But, believe it or not, only 10% of our long-term happiness comes from our external circumstances. Happiness is not the result of external events.
But happiness is something that we create internally. It comes from the deep reservoir that lies within, and it’s a conscious choice we make to work on the inside of ourselves to feel good on the outside.
