In this episode of the She Finds Joy podcast, Kim talks with Ticora Davis—an attorney, author, and speaker pushing culturally-relevant legal representation to black women and creatives of color. As a “purpose activator”, Ticora seamlessly blends her knowledge of creative business law with her passion for pushing women to birth their dreams and achieve economic freedom.

Ticora gets personal and shares her experience of working in a toxic environment as an attorney while pregnant. She felt great stress and anxiety, and when she went back to work after giving birth to her baby boy she was told by her male boss to “stay home and get over your pregnancy brain”.

She describes her journey from desperately trying to make a living, to hearing the voice inside her encourage her that she was made for more. She talks people through their fears to pursue goals and chase after dreams. Ticora brings her spirituality front and center in both her business and her life.
